Raintree Thoroughbred Farm has been designed as a conservative investment with a potential for above average returns. The core of our business is acquiring undervalued thoroughbreds and reselling them either as yearlings, two-year-olds in training or as racing prospects. Management of the company has established a network of industry veterans to serve as advisors and help seek access to undervalued opportunities.
Generally, thoroughbreds are bought at public auction run by leading companies such as the Keeneland Association and Fasig-Tipton. The horses, after being purchased, are boarded at top training centers and nurseries to be prepared for resale. Typically, the thoroughbreds are resold within six to eight months of purchase.

Raintree Thoroughbred Farm is an emerging bloodstock agency engaging in the purchase and sale of thoroughbred weanlings, yearlings, and two-year-olds both in the United States and abroad. Our full service facility serves as a nursery where we breed and foal thoroughbreds and prepare them for the weanling, yearling, and broodmare sales. Woodside Ranch in Ocala, Florida is where we maintain a base of operations for the development of yearlings and two-year-olds in training.
In addition, Raintree Thoroughbred Farm specializes in racing and breeding partnerships, a niche that has become attractive to not only newcomers to the industry, but to current owners and breeders who are looking to diversify and enhance existing operations. Through our general and limited partnerships, shareholders own a group of colts and/or fillies with top pedigrees which, if successful, become extremely desirable stallion or broodmare prospects. Raintree Thoroughbred Farm, until recently, has operated on a relatively small scale and is now in the process of expanding. The thoroughbred industry enjoyed record high volume and prices during the 1980s. However, the market tapered off in the early 1990s and then regained strong momentum in the late 1990s, resulting in record sales volume beyond the year 2000. (See “Auction Sales in North America.”) Volume returns from the 2006 editions of the weanling and the two-year-olds in training sales reached all time highs. The yearling sales, typically the indicator of the strength of the thoroughbred market, enjoyed a +4.0% increase in average sale price and a +4.6% increase in overall sales volume. (See: “Average/Median Price Per Yearling.) Presale expectations at the thoroughbred sales level have been exceeded as the number of buyers and sellers have pushed volume and prices to all-time highs.
